BioOrbit publishes biographies of public figures. This page explains who we cover, how we research and write, what we will not publish, and how we keep articles up to date.

Who we cover

We write about people with a documented public role, such as entertainers, athletes, politicians, business leaders, lawyers, academics and public officials. We do not write biographies of private individuals. We do not cover minors unless they hold a significant public role. We do not publish biographies of people primarily known for explicit adult content.

How we research

• We begin with first-party sources: official websites, verified social media accounts, company, club, label or institutional pages, government and court records, and official award-body pages.
• We then use established news and industry publications.
• Wikipedia, IMDb, fan sites and biography aggregators may help us find leads, but we do not treat them as authoritative. We trace important claims to the original source.
• Repetition across websites does not count as verification.
• Key facts such as dates of birth, marriages, deaths and controversies require at least two reliable sources.
• If reliable sources disagree, we use the best-supported version and note the disagreement, or we leave the fact out.
• If we cannot confirm a fact, we do not publish it.

How we write

• We write in our own words and attribute reported claims to their source.
• Every biography ends with a list of sources we consulted.
• We distinguish between wins and nominations, and between allegations, charges, findings and convictions. We include the person’s response where it is publicly available.
• We do not infer ethnicity, religion or health details from a person’s name, appearance, language or birthplace. We publish them only when the person has stated them publicly and we can cite it.
• Net worth figures appear only when a credible source reports them. We name the source and year and label the figure as an estimate. We do not calculate net worth ourselves.

What we do not publish

• Rumours, gossip or unconfirmed relationships
• Home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or other private contact details
• Private details about children
• Death reports that are not confirmed by reliable sources or an official statement
• Allegations presented as fact

Updates and review

Every biography shows a “Last updated” date. We change that date only when we have re-checked the facts. We review articles about living people [every 6 to 12 months / on the schedule you actually follow], and sooner when significant news is reported.

Independence

We do not accept payment to publish, change, or remove a biography. Advertising does not influence what we cover or how we write about people.

Images

We use images only where we have the right to do so, and we credit the source when required.

Requests from the people we cover

If you are the subject of an article, or represent them, and believe something is wrong, please use our corrections page. We will correct verified errors. We will also consider requests to remove information that puts a person’s privacy or safety at risk, especially involving minors or private contact details. We generally keep accurate, properly sourced information about public roles.
