Lindsey Morgan Biography

Lindsey Morgan Biography: Playing Raven Reyes, Her Walker Exit and Family Life

In 2021, Lindsey Morgan had just landed the role she had spent years working toward: a lead spot on The CW’s Walker, playing Texas Ranger Micki Ramirez opposite Jared Padalecki.

Less than a year later, she walked away from it, citing only “personal reasons” in a brief statement. It would take a further podcast interview, years later, for her to explain what actually happened: a spinal injury affecting her nervous system had made the pace of a network drama unsafe for her to continue.

That departure is one chapter in a career that began on a daytime soap opera and grew into genre-television stardom. Lindsey Marie Morgan is an American actress best known for playing mechanical engineer Raven Reyes across all seven seasons of The CW’s science-fiction drama The 100, and for her later role as Micki Ramirez on Walker.

Personal Life

Morgan announced her engagement to Canadian actor Shaun Sipos, known for Krypton and Reacher, in December 2020, and the two married in Austin, Texas, on September 21, 2023.

In February 2025, Morgan announced on social media that the couple were expecting their first child, telling fans in a video reported by Soaps.com, “Looks, like I’ll be needing bigger pants.”

The couple’s daughter, whose name has been reported as Eden Aurora Sipos, was born later in 2025. Morgan and her family divide their time between Los Angeles and Austin.

From Daytime Soap to Genre Television

Morgan grew up in Houston, Texas, and studied fine arts and theatre at the University of Texas at Austin before leaving college to pursue acting in Los Angeles.

Early bookings included commercials, a background part on Friday Night Lights, and a small role in the 2011 film Detention alongside Josh Hutcherson, followed by the lead in MTV’s DisCONNECTED the same year.

In April 2012, she was cast as Kristina Corinthos-Davis on the long-running ABC soap opera General Hospital, making her debut that May.

The role earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series in 2013, shortly before she left the series that March to pursue other projects.

Raven Reyes and The 100

Morgan’s next major role came in 2014, when she was cast as Raven Reyes, a mechanical engineer, in The CW’s post-apocalyptic drama The 100.

The part became her longest-running and best-known role, carrying her through all seven seasons of the series until it concluded in 2020.

Alongside The 100, she also built a film career, including a supporting role in the 2013 horror-comedy Chastity Bites and a lead role in the 2016 thriller Lasso.

The Skyline Franchise

In 2017, Morgan joined the Skyline science-fiction film series, playing Captain Rose Corley in a brief, single-day cameo shoot for Beyond Skyline.

The appearance led to a bigger opportunity: director Liam O’Donnell wrote her a starring role in the franchise’s next installment, Skylines, which centered on Rose leading a team of mercenaries on an alien world and was released on Netflix in 2020.

Morgan has said she is attached to reprise the role again in a further sequel, Skyline: Warpath, which had been expected for release in 2025 but, as of this writing, remains unreleased after being pulled from its planned Fantastic Fest screening that October.

Walker and the Injury Behind Her Exit

Morgan returned to her home state in 2021 to join the cast of Walker, The CW’s reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger, as series regular Micki Ramirez, Cordell Walker’s partner and one of the first women in the Texas Rangers within the show’s fiction.

In October 2021, only weeks into the show’s second season, she announced on Instagram that she would be leaving the series, telling fans in a statement carried by TVLine that “This isn’t goodbye, but an extended break.” At the time, she gave no more detail than “personal reasons.”

The fuller explanation came later, when Morgan discussed her departure on the podcast I’ve Never Said This Before. She told the show, in an account reported by The Hollywood Reporter, “I had a spinal injury, which was affecting my nervous system and my brainstem.”

She said the condition caused crippling anxiety and stress that made it unsafe to keep working the long hours the role demanded, and that leaving was especially difficult because landing a lead role on a network series had been a long-held professional goal.
