Heading into 2026, Rudy Baldwin told his millions of followers to brace for what he called a “year of fear”: a possible “Big One” earthquake, martial law, three pandemics, and a wave of accidents and disasters across the Philippines. “Sana lang hindi po matupad,” he said of the predictions, urging the public to pray that they do not come true. It was the latest entry in a yearly ritual that has made him one of the Philippines’ most-followed, and most-debated, self-described psychics.
Rudy Baldwin is a Filipino social media personality, vlogger and self-described psychic, visionary and dream translator who has built a large online following by publicly sharing predictions of disasters, crimes and celebrity misfortunes, which he says come to him in visions from God.

Baldwin says he has experienced visions of disasters, crime and death since childhood, and that people around him often disbelieved or feared him when he described what he saw. He has said he tried at times to ignore the visions but found he could not live with his conscience after tragedies he believed he might have foreseen. He went viral in 2020 after posting predictions on his Facebook page, including a warning about the January 2020 collapse of a footbridge in Bicutan, Taguig, and claims that he had foreseen the Taal Volcano eruption that same month. His profile grew further after social media users linked an earlier post of his to the death of NBA star Kobe Bryant in January 2020, and he appeared on the GMA program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho. His life story was later dramatized in a January 23, 2021 episode of GMA’s Magpakailanman, titled “Babala at Pangitain: The Rudy Baldwin Story.”
Since 2020, Baldwin has released an annual set of predictions, typically framed as warnings meant to prompt prayer and preparation rather than as certainties. He called 2022 a “year of disaster,” citing strong typhoons, and 2023 a “year of bad karma.” For 2026, he and fellow prognosticator Jovi Vargas forecast what Philippine outlets described as a “year of fear,” including a possible “Big One” earthquake in the Philippines, three pandemics (including a resurgence of monkeypox), lockdowns affecting parts of Luzon and other Asian countries, martial law, major eruptions at six Philippine volcanoes and one dormant volcano, landslides and flooding across multiple provinces and the Visayas, a plane crash into water with only two or three survivors, and a vlogger shot during a livestream, along with an economic outlook he described as “not good.” He has also claimed to have predicted a June 2025 air accident involving lightning three days before an Air India crash, and reports in 2025 linked past posts of his to the deaths of entertainers Pilita Corrales and Nora Aunor, as well as the 2021 Sulu C-130 crash, though he did not name the individuals or incidents directly in his original posts. He has also weighed in on politics, criticizing in 2025 a plan to investigate Vice President Sara Duterte’s confidential funds, and has claimed the ability to foresee winning lottery numbers.
Baldwin’s claims have drawn sustained criticism from people who say his forecasts are too vague to be meaningfully tested, or that they spread needless fear. In 2021, his former manager, Elzen Estores, alleged on the program Raffy Tulfo in Action that some of Baldwin’s predictions were fabricated; Baldwin denied the accusations. That same year, social media personality Xian Gaza publicly called him a “scammer” and “con man.” In August 2021, Baldwin filed cyber libel complaints against Gaza and against several fake accounts that he said were impersonating him online, and he has continued to warn his followers about fraudulent pages using his name and image.
